What do you think of the team's old lady? |D

He is... starting to warm up to her. A little. Slowly. That goes for most of the team too, really, but specifically. She's been pretty patient with the fact he's kind of standoffish, and she wasn't so sulky about the new people replacing the old people thing, so. He's getting more comfortable.

He also respects her a little more since that whole... werecamel riding incident. I'm not sure how far that extends, but it improved his overall impression.

Reverse?

Jaina has actually come to appreciate the new members of the team. From her perspective, Neji is standoffish but the sort of person she understands: purely rational and practical. She thinks that of the members of the team, he'll be the one she can count on when there's something serious happening, figuring he'll keep a level head and just do whatever he thinks needs done -- and she figures he's one of the least likely to write her off again if she takes a risk.

Can Jaina earn honorary ninja status?

It kind of depends on Neji's memories. At the moment he's not as strongly connected to the idea of being a ninja as he could be, so it's not something he's projecting consciously on others. The sense he does have is more an attitude, which isn't Jaina.

But who knows, once he gets more memories, and as he works out his feelings about the team more. XD

Jaina's goals for the team?

She'd like Iolite to become more like what she remembers of starfighter wingmates. A bizarre mix of camaraderie, friendly sarcastic bantering, and productive professionalism, all rolled up into one. A group that has each other's backs without the sense that they think you're going to throw your life away if you try to do something.

She knows that she is or was a squadron leader at one point, and she wishes that she could pull Iolite together like that -- but she also knows that while it's important for Iolite to get its act together, it's not going to rally around her (and certainly not in the way a military group does). And considering certain memories she's had, she thinks maybe that's for the best.

Reverse?

SORT OF SIMILAR. Not necessarily that he's looking for the same balance, but he'd like to see that kind cohesion, particularly the productive professionalism part. He does remember fighting alongside people, and trusting them, and Iolite isn't really like that.

At the same time, he doesn't think he could make that happen. I don't think he sees anyone on Iolite as really team leader material, for a variety of reasons.

...So say Iolite had to pick a team mascot. That isn't Obsidian. What should it be? XD

One of Aather's fireflies. Combine that common love of flying things with how everyone is pretty and also kind of RANDOMLY VOLATILE.

What's Neji's byakugan going to be like with Aather's power limiter?

SIGNIFICANTLY LIMITED.

I'm going to rein in its range to like... a fraction of what it is in canon. At one point, he's seeing things that are like 800 meters away or more? Not all at the same time, but... yeah. I'm thinking anything over about 25 meters or so will require a lot of effort, and result in like... headaches and chakra drain.

Other than that, I was planning on expanding his blindspot pretty significantly. He'll work it back down again, some, but. Effort. And it will frustrate him a lot.

Overall, the whole thing will be more tiring and headache inducing, too. So. Lots of work for him to do with that. Especially since if he's to exhausted he kinda stops being able to. See. So. That will be fun. (I love my canon for giving me that.)

Any skills/memories you're really looking forward to getting back?

Engineering. It's a character trait that Star Wars authors dropped the ball on because they're more interested in seeing her concentrate on actual combat skills -- it's "Star Wars," not "Tool Time with Jaina Solo."

Anyway, Jaina used to live and breath mechanics. Her idea of relaxing was building a mini-hydroelectric generator just to see if she could. And then it'd be useful if it worked, so double neato!

Basically, getting engineering back will give Jaina one of her best coping mechanisms back while simultaneously helping her provide the team with a good utility skill. Aside from the fact that she'll enjoy tinkering on things, she'll also be more comfortable and worry less about whether or not she's dead weight on the team.

What kind of challenge would you like to see Neji face for him to show of some of his characteristics in Aather?

THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION.

I don't know that I have anything in mind, specifically. I'm kind of looking forward to just getting to try something different with him. On the one hand, I do think it would be cool to put him in high stress situations and see how he does, show off his level headed and competent sides, potentially. Of the memories he's gotten back, two of them in particular are already setting up that side of him already. So that could be cool.

And on the other hand, weirdness and some humiliation type stuff could be good for him. He's pretty prickily, and it could be fun/interesting to challenge his dignity.

Favorite type of games?

Heart games! It's fun to see characters get an opportunity to see bits of the person's world and experiences, to see how things are symbolized and so on. It's also a hilarious way to play with character changes.

Reverse?

I would like to try a heart game. I couldn't really make the last round, so there's really only the Three's, which I don't know if is quite the same?

Buuuuut, I'm kind of a competitive person, so games that are competitive rather than just exploration or interaction appeal to me. I would like a goal, and to beat someone else to that goal. Even if it's something like Firebird's game, where it's like finding better answers to the questions or something.
