Ace named Zero, which made him feel a bit proprietary in a "I named it, it is mine" kind of way, so he kept poking at Zero, checking up on him, seeing how he was settling in as a knight. Things just kind of snowballed from there, especially when they started taking memories together (I can't remember when that was, though) and Ace latched on to him as a role model for How Does I Good Knight. And now they are bffls forever. \o/

Anyway! Pretty much any of them. Hinata would be interesting for me, because obviously I have bias, but I am always pretty enthusiastic about having cast. It makes me happy. Um... I'd really love to see what someone would do with a Gaara in Aather, I think. He could sad panda around. And possibly kill people. You know, like you do.

Hmm...Alice would be huge, obviously. And Julius would be nice too because gosh, more friends! Anyone else from his cast, Ace would probably troll and antagonize -- not that he wouldn't troll Alice or Julius, but it was a kinder, gentler type of trolling.

What types of games do you like?

I probably like strategy type games best. I'm a terrible person and like trying to make life more difficult for other teams. :x

I also tend to like games with a clear goal. I think some of that's just because I play Neji, and he's not all that super outgoing or fun in social games or exploration games. I'd probably feel a little differently about it if I were playing someone who'd go out and flirt with all the pretty girls.

HMMM. If Ace were a hero, what team would you want him on?

I'm sort of terrible at keeping track of team dynamics but uhhh. I think a lot of teams could work for him to be honest. I don't really have a preference.

If you had apped Neji out as a knight, what memory would you have picked for his starter?

Hmmm... possibly the same memory he has for his start now, his father talking to him before he died. It's a good starter memory I think because it starts him off with some drive to prove himself, which would be useful as a knight. Otherwise, I'm not entirely sure. Maybe something that could have flipped his self-sacrificing switch a little.

For a skill, probably Byakugan. :x

Any games you'd really like to see played? Or events? Like... tinies or etc? XD

Mm...I have no game preferences, but I am looking forward to running Ace's heart at some point. And as for events...I wouldn't say no to playing Ace as a dog some more, and I'd like a sexswap game at some point.

(Being able to 4th wall Sabra!Itachi over would be fun too as an out-of-canon event. >>)

I didn't really have something specific in mind, but Itachi is a tremendously interesting character. With a tremendously unhealthy relationship with his brother. It's a ping of mine--and he's pretty ambiguous, I think, so it's always interesting to see how people read him. :x

Hmm...I guess I can just ramble a bit and then you can tell me if you want me to expand or clarify or whatever. :x

So...the way I see Itachi, and the way I view his actions is through the idea that he a) is very loyal to multiple things that b) he sets in a rigid hierarchy where c) if something lower down on the hierarchy deviates from the interests of something higher up, he defaults to whatever is higher up. So the hierarchy forms the basis of things that he is loyal to, but also of things that he loves, and the things that he prioritizes. And for me it goes, from highest to lowest priority:

Clan
Friends
Himself

So I think he did love his parents and he did believe in the ideals espoused by the Uchiha but they crystallized into a place lower than Konohagakure on his list of priorities. And that was fine, as long as the goals of the clan aligned with the goals of the village. And when they didn't, he dropped them from the list and focused his loyalty one level up, and so on. Shisui is kind of complicated mess; I think he did start out loyal to the coup, but later changed his mind. I also happen to think Itachi was absolutely prepared to kill Shisui the night they met (because Shisui, as friend/clan, falls lower in his priorities than Konoha) but Shisui's offer of both his eye and his life completely undercut Itachi's intentions and really just...threw off the way he'd seen the night going. But that's an aside and probably a whole essay to itself.

And aside from that I think that is pretty much it. The idea of a hierarchy of loyalties/priorities is basically the framework I use to understand Itachi's actions and motivations. I mean, this is obviously a super stripped down version, but I didn't want to go into too much detail because then I might conceivably be here typing forever. As it stands, I hope it makes sense anyway. o/

I THINK THAT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE. I think, for my reading of him, that works pretty well. Definitely putting himself lowest seems to be a thing we see, and it's consistent with his ability to do terrible things if he finds it necessary? :|a

Yeah, definitely. I think he's very much about doing what is necessary and what is required of him and prioritizing those things over what he might personally desire or want. :
