Receiving his curse seal/witnessing his father's seal activated. 1-2, headcanon. (significant negative)
Description: Neji is only receiving the memory in the flashbacks and the parts implied between. Hinata's birthday, his father's discomfort, receiving the curse seal which is not shown, and then the rest of the flashback. Receiving the curse seal was not exactly fun, but not torturous. He also understands what it does and its purpose now.
Notes:
-This explains a lot.
-Urge to punch Naruto, back in full.
-He will probably seriously consider covering his curse seal. He might hold back to avoid questions, or letting people in on the fact it makes him uncomfortable.
-Concepts of freedom have gone from meaning something to him theoretically to meaning a lot personally.
-Despite his initial anger, he also understands now that this is something that's been resolved. Somehow. He does know how, and it will take him a while to reconcile that, but with the memories he's already had, he's not going to pull a complete 180 at this point.
-All of the angsting starts now.
