Bullying Lee. Headcanon. (trivial neutral)
Description: Strictly speaking, this wouldn't have to be headcanon, since it's a thing that shown sort of secondarily a few times, but in the interest of 1) getting more memories, 2) getting to have a memory that references this kind of behavior specifically, and 3) getting academy memories, I've decided to go this direction with it.
That said, very basic, uncomplicated stuff here. Neji remembers some of a school day, pre-genin rank, finding the lessons easy, being dismissive of the rest of his class who were clearly less gifted than him, and being particularly snide and abusive to Lee, who couldn't couldn't perform jutsu at all. When given the opportunity to spar together, Lee got beat up. More than necessary.

Notes:
-Neji remembers being an asshole! And, he's not totally surprised by that. There was a little of it in the eighth bird memory, though not nearly this extreme. However, it does seem sort of at odds with his later memories. There's a little dissonance there.
-At the same time... well, it does seem stupid for someone who can't do any jutsu to be a ninja.
-Neji knows Lee is a teammate of his from the first memory he received. Awkward.
-He has the sense that he excelled in school. Which is... great. More things he doesn't remember how to do now.
-However, he's also aware that he was significantly more powerful in the previous memory he regained. 4-5 years difference might do that?
-One thing Neji does get from this that's kind of notable. Not enough to make this a positive memory, but since I'm going with beating Lee up here (something it's implied happened a number of times, particularly once they were put on a team together, in the course of their training), Neji remembers that even at that age he was good at controlling the flow of a fight, drawing it out and making it a sort of game for himself, and harsher on his opponent. This will be a thing that reeeeeally shows when he remembers fighting Hinata, but I think there would be shades of it here. So: Neji remembered how to enjoy playing cat and mouse with with someone, and how to enjoy hurting them. In a particular fight situation. This wasn't something that he got from his later, real battle memory at all, and I'm not sure I'd call him entirely comfortable with it.
But feeling powerful is pretty cool, right? :x
